Before I begin – if anyone reading this works at Seattle Grace, and has seen my Scrabble board (you know the one --  I keep it in the lounge under the counter with the napkins and the plastic drink stirrers?) Let me know. Because it’s missing.

I like to play Scrabble on my slow evening shifts. I love my scrabble. I MISS my Scrabble. Please, RETURN me my Scrabble!!!

But back to the gossip…

Izzie Stevens is out of control.

Denny Duquette was rushed back into the hospital recently – and he hasn’t been well enough to go back home since... His heart is ready to give out completely. He’s been in bad shape for a while, but – Wow. He just seems to be getting worse and worse and worse… if they don’t find a donor heart for him soon, well… It’s just so sad watching someone die, waiting for a match like that…

That said, his spirits seem unusually good, all things considered.  I’m sure his rosy outlook is due, in part, to the fact that he’s been receiving a lot of extra attention from none other than little miss Izzie Stevens.

She’s a good doctor – that’s not what I’m saying. And she has a wonderful bedside manner – I’ve witnessed it myself… but with Denny? She’s crossing a serious patient/doctor line – a line that, frankly, is only going to get her into trouble.

The other night, I saw her bring a bag full of goodies into his room – after hours. She wasn’t on duty… But she WAS all decked out with her curly hair and curvy jeans… We’re talking a table cloth, juice, plastic wine glasses…

Yeah – that is NOT how you visit with your patient. Even if you ARE off duty. There’s a line. And she’s choosing to cross it. When she totally knows better.

But that’s not all – because last night? After we had to rush Denny back in to surgery (on the night of the fatality clusters – like I said before, everyone was superstitiously on edge) I saw something SO wrong –

I saw Izzie KISS Denny Duquette. Her patient. On the lips. In his room. After surgery. Because he didn’t die… Because, if you ask me? She’s clearly falling in love with him.

I mean – Okay. Interns sleeping with their attendings – not a good idea. Pretty much always against the rules, but… whatever. It happens. It’s fun to gossip about. It’s not the end of the world or anything…

But falling in love with your patient? Now that’s an intern mistake that’s next to impossible to come back from – it’s beyond taboo. It clouds your judgment in the most fundamental way – there’s a reason surgeons don’t operate on their family members. On the people they love – it’s because it’s so difficult to make the proper decisions.

I’m worried about this. Really really worried. I’d like to talk to Dr. Bailey about it – give her the heads up, see if there’s any way she can intervene, but…

It’s probably not my place.

And you should see the way Alex Karev has been skulking around the halls these days! He’s on a tear – the tiniest thing will set him off –  And there’s no way it isn’t because Izzie suddenly doesn’t have time for him… Alex is so jealous of Denny, it would be funny if it weren’t so darn intense…

I have to say – on this, I understand where Karev is coming from.

Earlier, when I was taking a coffee break outside, by one of the benches, Karev came up. Slammed down onto the bench beside me. Looked a little like he was ready to punch somebody.

I told him that if I smoked, I’d offer him a cigarette – but since it’s such a nasty habit, and I’ve seen first hand just how disgusting those shriveled black smokers’ lungs look – all I could offer him was a stick of gum.

He didn’t say a word, but he took two pieces. And began to chomp on them – furiously.

I heard later that Izzie had just dumped him a few minutes before…

Man, that’s gotta sting. Dumped for a dying heart patient.

hmmmmm. very interesting. could Izzie get kicked out of the intern program for kissing a patient?? just a thought. And speaking of your missing scrabble board, I sugest that you go and ask dearest Izzie about that. I have a feeling that she can tell you where it is.

I know that Izzie shouldn't be falling for Denny but if "its" there then its there, ya know?!? You can't help who you fall in love with...we all wish sometimes that we could...just like Meredith and Derek.

The only thing to do is take her off Denny's case. It is a shame though because it doesn't seem like Denny is going to live much longer. How much can his poor heard take?! But like I said, you can't turn your feelings on and off so looks like Izzie is in whether she likes it not.

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens with Denny!! I hope you are back with us for the lastest gossip. If you are then I look forward to reading what you pick up next!

Oooh Nurse Debbie, I just checked the blog and whoa--THREE new entries! Sweeeet. Your commentaries were TOTALLY lacking for what? the past MONTH! eek! Anyway, glad to see you back on your feet and typing away all the juicy bits at SGH! Wow, finally someone who totally agrees that Izzie has crossed the line with Denny....and that the Shepherds and Mer can't be friends! DUH!

Yes, well Karev deserves what he got from Izzie.....and she deserves someone like Denny - the world goes round and yet those who are forbidden to fall in love always do that much harder - take away that forbidden fruit and it becomes bland, boring, every-day stuff.....make it forbidden, wrong, that line people just shouldn't cross and it becomes instant bliss -
It's good to see Karev sweat and get a little heartbreak back after what he's dished out - karmic Syph, Alex???

My advice? Let Izzie and Denny enjoy what little time he likely has left. She'll be a better person for having had him in her life, and he'll have had some joy in his last days -

Poor Karev. Although part of me wants to giggle and tell you that he deserves it for being such a cocky hyper-masculine monkey, the other part of me feels bad for being in such a pickle. I won't rant about the woes of dating coworkers; I think it would be hypocritical of me to do so as I kinda want Merideth and McDreamy find a way to be together. Who wouldn't? Ok maybe Addison...

Anyways back to Alex and Izzie. I'm feeling bad for the guy. Not only does he have to go through the awkwardness of situation, he also has to do this in front of patients and people he works with.

Oh by the way if you haven't found your scrabble board yet, I have one that just sits and collects dust. I'm sure you could put it to good use. Let me know if you want it; I can just drop it off.

I feel bad for Karev. I never, ever thought I'd say that. But I do.

And I'm really annoyed at Izzie. She definitely crossed several lines. I sort of think that Dr. Burke has noticed, though, but he hasn't...done anything. Somebody needs to talk to that girl. Seriously. Maybe smack her a few times, while they're at it. Sheesh.

Anywho, thanks for the gossip. I think that you should look for your scrabble board...in Izzie's locker. I seem to remember that being in her little Denny bag o'tricks. *smile*

Hey Debbie! Thanks for the update.
Sounds like Dr. Stevens has stepped so far over the line that she can't even see it anymore. In my opinion, you should definitely talk to Bailey and get Izzie removed from Denny's case...STAT!
Poor Alex. From what I've heard Izzie was very overly mean in her break-up talk. Alex could definitely use your support right now. Be sure and give him a big hug for me, ok? Thanks!

I like Izzy and Denny, I know she is crossing the line, and she should be taken off his case, that way she wouldn't be his doctor anymore and wouldn't have to worry about the line. Even if he is dying, he is WAY better than Alex! I want to see Deny get better and the two of them get together! I want to see George and Calle together, I want to see McDreamy and Addison divorced, so Addison can find someone who loves her (I like Addison, I just think Mer and Der need to be together), and maybe Mer needs a new love while McDreamy figures out what he wants. I do have to say that I love the way things are going, because it isn't perfect, it's real. The feelings and the conflicts they have are something everyone has gone through at one point or another in their lives! Keep up with the Great posts! Thanks!

Izzie is completely nuts. Alex didn't deserve being yelled at just for telling Denny EXACTLY what Denny asked him to say....The TRUTH. Miss falls in love with patients is going to get busted before this is all over. Mark my words! Long live King Alex Karev world's greatest television character!!

Izzie Stevens is going to regret this if my boy Alex has anything to do about it. She never gave him a second chance. She fell in love with another guy and totally bitched Alex out because he was loving him too. Sheesh. Go Alex!! Boo Izzie! Go Addison. She's Awesome!
