Knitting, Knitting Everywhere!

Ok, first things first --  I found my scrabble board. In Denny Duquette’s room. Where he and Izzie Stevens had stashed it!!

So… I took it back. And waited for Izzie to hunt me down (which she did) and ask for it back (which she did) just so I could reply, “How much is it worth to you, Dr. Stevens?”

Turns out, it’s worth a lot! She started fishing around in her pockets for all sorts of jewelry and cash, when I stopped her. I mean – I do like to taunt people, but I’m not entirely heartless! I settled on a price that isn’t monetary – it’s more like a skill. Something I’ve always wanted to do – learn how to knit.

Izzie’s been knitting up a storm all over the hospital today, so… I bargained three months worth of knitting lessons out of her. We start tomorrow night – I’m actually really looking forward to it. Already bought myself a set of needles, and some yarn. A lovely shade of butter yellow.

Meanwhile – I think Alex Karev is really letting this whole Izzie/Denny thing get to him. He’s just… raw lately. Off his game. Emotions too close to the surface.

Like this afternoon – you should have seen Karev blow up – yes, BLOW UP – at Dr. Burke. I guess Burke thought Alex was being too blunt with one of their patients or something… but MAN! When Burke pulled him out into the hall to discuss it, Alex went nuts. He was loud, all up in Burke’s face – practically snarling. It was intense. And a little creepy. And completely out of line… except… that Alex did have a point.

He kept talking about how, though he may not be the nicest guy in the world, at least he’s honest with his patients. At least there’s that…

And I tend to agree with him. I’m not one for sugar coating things (yeah, yeah – I can hear all of your sarcastic comments about that already…) I just don’t believe we should sugar coat things for our patients.

What is it with all of the knitting today?? Just saw Meredith Grey walking around with a strangely shaped piece of knitting herself… Glad I picked Izzie to give me lessons, and not Grey. From the looks of her knitting, Grey has no clue what she’s doing…

Actually – apparently she’s been a little out-there all day. Dr. Torres came up to me earlier, looking a little shaken… so I asked her if she was alright. That she looked a little pale (and if you’ve met Dr. Torres, you know she is usually ANYTHING but pale!)

She paused, then told me that Meredith Grey had just been smashing a plaster cast with a hammer – like, smashing it to smithereens. And that it worried her when she thought about  Meredith as the woman who broke George’s heart. That clearly, Meredith had some serious issues --- and they were, in Callie’s words: “a little bit freaky.”

Now – for someone to freak Torres out? That must have been some SERIOUS cast-smashing!

I didn’t say this to Callie – but I think I may have an idea as to why Meredith was on such a tear today… I’m pretty sure I saw Meredith’s father – Thatcher – wandering around the hospital earlier…

I can’t be sure – it’s been so many years, and he looked really different, but – yeah. I do think it was him. In which case – I’m not surprised Meredith was getting a little bit freaky. Last I heard, she hadn’t exactly been a big part of her father’s life…

It’s either that – or the fact that Addison is under the same freaky delusion that she and Meredith are all buddy-buddy friends now, just like Meredith and Derek. Addison was all happy and chummy and FRIENDLY with Meredith today…

Here’s my question – when did this happen? When did they get all “hey, we’ve both boned the same dude, but who cares?  Let’s braid hair!”

Seriously??

I liked it better when they were at each others’ throats. So much more fun to gossip about!

Personally I don't think it was Meredith's idea to be Addison's New Best Friend. Clearly, Addy is trying to create a place for herself in the hospital, and clearly they do have to work together and she can't just walk off in a huff like George everytime she sees Mer, and clearly, (to her credit) she knows Mer didn't know McDreamy was married and I'd like to think she has a heart in there somewhere. Do I hope it works out for them? I don't honestly know. There had to be something between Addy/Der for them to have gotten together in the first place and I'm really glad that Derek is taking the time he needs to see if the relationship can be saved. I mean, would he be the man Meredith loves and would we love him if he didn't try? Seriously. Because if that question isn't answered BEFORE he and Meredith get together, if it isn't DEFINITELY over with Addison, then she'll be carried into the their relationship, and we all know how much THAT sucks. Seriously.

Now, if I remember correctly, the last time that trio shared a secret amongst them, it was all over the hospital by lunchtime. How have you managed to keep it under wraps so well? Doesn't Bailey not find out for another week, and when she does, don't you think it would be....explosive?

I just have to say that I love Callie. She is making George step up. I think that they are cute as a couple.

Definitely, this whole Mer/Der/Addison thing is freaking me out. Addison and Meredith friends? I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's impossible. Even if Addison is that forgiving, Meredith isn't, and she's also madly in love (tho maybe this Vet will get him off her mind) with McDreamy.
On another note, the whole Denny/Izzie/Alex thing...I like Denny b/c Izzie is so happy with him, but I find it indicative of a huge problem Izzie has: being too personal with her patients. Also, I have to say this, as unbelievable as it may seem, I'm kinda sorry for Alex (whoa, that's a change from the norm).
George and Callie--I'm ambivalent. I kinda like her because she's moving him forward from Meredith, but at the same time, she's really creepy. Really. Creepy.
I can't wait for this to sort itself out!

I am so happy to see George finally happy. I think he and Callie will make a great couple. It is now Meredith's turn to be happy, and to feel wanted. Please bring her and Derek back together again. It is so sad to watch two people that truly love each other strung up like puppets. But, first let Derek have a taste of his own medicine. In other words, let him watch Meredith being pursued by a very attractive and interested vet.

Mer and Der's dog? well it turns out that Der had to drop him off at the Vet cos he was sick and Mer went to go check on him later on at the Vet's place and BAM!!! McSrumptious was born! looks like Mer might actually stop pinning for Derek soon,(which BTW is the right way to go) I know I would if I were in her situation. Anyways, see if you can poke out anything from her about the Vet, he was really HOT!!! I think you would approve! I do! In all honesty I think you would be like McDreamy who? when you see him!

I love Callie. Mostly because of her attitude and the fact that she's not a stick figure like the rest of the women on the show.

As for Addison. I hate that they're trying to make her likable. It does help with chances of bring "McSteamy" back though. Which I'm sure will cause lots of drama.

I'm sure Mer/Der will get back together someday. As for right now I'm liking the vet. He seems like the perfect guy for Mer to get over "McDreamy" and the perfect guy to get Derick jealous. I mean if he hit Mark for just talking to Meredith I can't wait to see what will happen with Vinn.

Sorry this whole "let's be friend" thing is weird. Meredith needs to get totally out of the Shepherd marriage.
Addison is the strangest chick in the world. Really sick of the Shepherds. They should return to Broadway - take their ACT on the road.

Callie and Addison should become roommates - the weird attract the weird.

Love the boned the same guy lets braid hair comment. But really the Shepherds need to leave town and let the Dirty Mistresses have the hospital to themselves.

Hello Nurse!

Sorry, couldn't resist, too much TV as a young adult. ANYWAY, Meredith gave up sex/men and took up knitting. As Denny would say: "Good luck with that.” The friendship thing with Meredith, Addison and Derek is just a disaster waiting to happen. I know Addison is trying to be the bigger person but I don't know what McDreamy is after. Glad you are getting to learn how to knit. I know Denny and Izzie shouldn't be together maybe you could give Bailey the heads up and get her to reassign Izzie so the conflict isn't there and then they can date, right? I always thought it would be better if the doctor had some type of feeling for his/her patient so that they do everything possible for them. But you are right Izzie has gone too far. Well thanks for keeping us posted.

First of all, I love this SHOW!!!! I think Addison is just trying to be a nice person and trying to find her own way back to McDreamy, personally I would of stayed with MCSteamy, he is soooo HOT!!!! I hope he returns. I hope Meredith goes for the Vet, COD is sooo HOT as well. I hope she doesn't make the mistake of slepping with him the first night though. As far as Izzie, I am getting sick of her. I think that she was holding a gridge fo ALex doing what he did to her and I don't like Denny as much as other people do. I do think Alex totally deserved it though. I love all the characters. I loved when Chistina was walking around naked in the apartment and Burke's reaction, that was Hilarious!!!!!

First time posting! I love the blog; it kinda holds me off till the next show! I like Callie in a way- if she'd just get off Meredith's case then everything should work out fine. Addison is only trying to be friends with Meredith so that she'll be in good graces with McDreamy and I pray that it doesn't work! Meredith and Derek belong together! Keep up the gossip ~ Loving it!

i'm doing the kntting thing except not knitting. landyarning. honestly i think the whole izzie/denny (dezzie) thing is cute... BUT i don't they should keep showing him in the hospital. they should go out on a date and SHOW the date.i like grey's method of anger smashing a cast. i don't like dr.torres. she's too jealous of meredith. AND I HATE THE WHOLE ADDISON MEREDITH DEREK FRIENDSHIP. i think that addison should move back to new york fr a week then derek gets meredith pregnant and then addison finds out and then they get a divorce. that would be awesome. then she would be gone with mark.
