Going Postal

Ok, all hell is breaking loose today – things are really out of control. It feels like everyone is going postal, which is why the only thing I can think of to do right now… is blog.

Here’s the thing. I know something. OK – I don’t KNOW know, but I have a very strong suspicion. And I feel I should be doing something about it. I know I should be doing something about it, but – I don’t know what. Or how. Or – even why I should be the one to step up, when it doesn’t actually involve me… And me stepping up might very well wind up really HURTING someone else – one (or maybe even some) of our interns… and…

…So I’m blogging. About people going postal.

I’ll start with the obvious. We have a lot of patients today. Gunshot wounds – because there was a shooting. A restaurant employee – he really DID go postal. Shot up the restaurant… hurt – even killed – a bunch of people. Really scary.

But it’s not just the gunshot patients, I can handle that kind of craziness. It’s the rest of my co-workers that… are one by one beginning to lose it.

Take Addison Shepherd. She lost it with McDreamy earlier – I only caught the end of their argument, but that was enough. They were standing right above our main nurse’s station, so everyone heard her – as she yelled at Derek about not being able to compete for his affections because (as she put it) “I’m NOT Meredith Grey!!”

Bad enough people were within earshot – even worse when Addison and Derek looked down to see Meredith standing right there as well. I can’t even imagine what could have pushed Addison far enough to lose it like that. She’s usually so composed, so polished…

Then – well, then there’s Callie. MAN. Is SHE on a tear today – Seems Meredith Grey really set her off, something about her dog and its bone cancer. All I know is that Callie won’t stop grumbling about Meredith and “being part of that stinking, dysfunctional family.” Let me just tell you, Dr. Torres is a little scary when she’s angry. I mean – I wouldn’t want to mess with her on the wrong day is all. Have you SEEN how forceful she is when she’s re-setting bones?

Oh. And you should have seen Cristina Yang today after Burke didn’t let her go with him to go get a transplant heart. She was livid. Can’t say that I blame her, actually – turns out Karev weaseled his way off the Vagina Squad & onto the transplant – right under her nose…

Speaking of the transplant case – it’s a heart. And it’s for Denny. That’s right, Denny Duquette is finally getting his long awaited heart… So you’d think that Izzie Stevens would be ecstatic. She should be beside herself – especially after Dr. Bailey (in a severe lapse of judgment, if you ask me) agreed to let Izzie help prep Denny for the surgery…

But instead? I saw Izzie wandering around – looking so lost, so forlorn…. I don’t know. It was bizarre – her face was so… hollow. Worried. And, frankly, a little bit frightening.

What’s strange is that, one of the gun shot victims I was treating earlier today? He described this guy – Petey – the guy who came in with the gun and shot up the restaurant? He described Petey in exactly the same way… said he had this distant, hollow look in his eyes… like he was scared, and worried, but resolved. Resolved to do something drastic.

He said Petey looked just like that the moment before he pulled out his gun and began to shoot.

Which brings me back to why all I can do right now is blog.

I just saw Izzie pull George O’Malley out of the locker room. I saw her hurry him down the hall – I have a pretty good feeling they were heading in the direction of Denny’s room.

And my gut – my gut says something terribly terribly wrong is about to unfold…

But I can’t move. I can’t do anything about it, because I don’t ACTUALLY know anything. I’m not covering that part of the floor. I’m down here – in the pit. I have patients here to monitor. It isn’t my place to just up and leave, but—

WHAT WAS THAT? Holy crap.—was that? Were those gun shots????

I never yell out loud at the TV but tonight, I yelled. At yelled at Izzie not to do it! My heart was pounding, I couldn't believe what she was doing!!

Those were shots. Burke is shot. Izzie is a fool. Denny may die because she decided to rob another patient of a heart. She's in love fine, but I think she just lost her license. Of course I don't want her gone so in the TV world maybe she'll keep it. My money is on Alex being a hero tomorrow night. I hope Addison leaves Derek and gets with Alex. They are great together. I hope Mer stays with Finn. Derek deserves to be alone for a while. Ten bucks says George is dumping Callie.

oh my goodness-- YES --- those were gunshots!! But go - hurry -- run to denny's room and stop izzie before it's too late!!!

I can't believe Alex got out of working with the She-Shepherd. Well, well, well... isn't he lucky? He got to go with Burke to get Denny's heart, while Cristina got left alone. Hm, if you ask me, their relationship is doomed to fail.

I have to agree that Izzie looked like she was about to go postal. What is the woman thinking? She is going to end up killing the man she loves because she has totally lost it. I was on the edge of my seat holding my breath by the end of the show. I'm not sure who I feel more scared for...Burke, Denny or Izzie...

ok - after all that happened - this is the one thing that keeps bugging me -- why is george so mean to callie? he defends meredith - who he wouldn'e even talk to FOREVER, and just expects callie to play along... it's such a jerky way to treat her. and then she goes and blurts out that she LOVES him??? how could she? he's treating her like crap!!!! grrrrrrrrr

Im so scared that Dr. Burke and Denny will die. It will hurt Christina and Izzy both. And as for Grey and Derek they need to get together they have the same feelings for each other. why cant they just show it to each other. even people are starting to notice. And as for Addison she just needs to leave and go back to Dereks friend.

Izzie wasn't "hollow", she was f***ing psychotic. Oh my god. I'm still reeling. She went totally and utterly crazy, and this is totally her character assassination. I wish this whole Denny storyline had never happened, because that's when Izzie stopped being my favourite character.

Oh, by the way, to whoever writes this: I know that this is fictional and I probably shouldn't care, but if I'm on the net and I hear gunshots...I don't sit there and blog about it, I go and see what the hell is going on.

so is it just me or is izze going muy loco! SERIOUSLY! I am a health student and I would not risk my career for someone who will be just fine and can make it until another heart comes along.. and everyone keeps defending Callie, personaly I think she is kind of a snob, she expects George to completly drop his life and past for her.. i don't think so. And I think it is about time that Addison realized what was going on in Derek's head he did tell her at one time he loved Merideth.. only 20 mins till the finale airs.. grabs your klenex or pillow or whatever you may need to get out your emotions...
