Whispers in the Hallway
Cristina Yang is losing her mind today. She’s wearing nail polish. She borrowed my nail file. She was HOLDING HANDS with Burke in front of a patient. Since when does Cristina Yang ACT LIKE A GIRL?
That’s it. If I can’t count on Cristina Yang to act like Cristina Yang anymore – I may just have to QUIT. I mean – seriously.
Meanwhile Ava was REALLY yelling at Alex today…Let me just say that the past few times I’ve checked in on her, Alex has been there. They have this weird relationship. Ava and Alex are constantly teasing each other and laughing and sharing things (not that she can share anything because she has no memory but she seems to be PRETTY interested in whatever he has to say).
But all of a sudden today, things changed. Some people who claimed to be Ava’s parents came by to retrieve her only to find out they weren’t her real parents. Alex must have been the one to break the news to her because all of a sudden we heard YELLING. EVERYONE stopped what he or she was doing. Me, I just happened to be walking by and dropped my pencil on the floor right outside of the door, (why it took so long to pick it up, I don’t know... wink wink).
BUT the surprising thing is Alex. He’s been yelled at, belittled, beaten up by George. I’ll say it again, beaten up by George. And through it all it never seemed to affect him. But this, I mean, for the rest of the day Alex seemed HURT. Alex hurt??? He even said thank you and please not once, but TWICE today! To me. I’m a NURSE!! Hmmm…. are we starting to FEEL, Dr. Karev?
But if you want to talk TENSION? Whispers in the hallway. Whispers in the elevator. Whispers at the station. All of this whispering happening between Izzie and George. These whispers are driving me mad because I can’t HEAR WHAT IS GOING ON. I was on shift in the clinic earlier and my inability to decipher what was being said has forced me to be extra observant.
What I do know is this: they have been gone most of the day. First Izzie takes off and then there was some weirdness between Bailey and George and there was one moment when I thought Bailey would use her clipboard to brain him she got so upset but next thing I know, George is now gone. Hmmm…. Now Nurse Tyler told me that Nurse Olivia told her that she saw O’Malley pushing Izzie in a wheelchair. What? What is going on between the two of them?
By the end of the day though, where there were intense whispers there were tender whispers. Where there was a wife waiting for her husband (Dr. Torres O’Malley), there was no husband (I was at the coffee truck and overheard Callie talking to Addison about where her love muffin was. Okay, she didn’t actually use the word “love muffin” but it’s a little nicer than her choice of words). But, standing up your wife in the honeymoon stage?? Okay things have just gotten a tad juicy around here…
Speaking of tension, what is going ON with the Chief and Dr. Shepherd? I was sitting in the cafeteria, eating my lunch and minding my own business when I overheard Patricia telling Nurse Olivia that Dr. Shepherd was very upset with the Chief because he was promised the job and the Chief suddenly has amnesia.
What’s more, I hear that the Chief doesn’t want to give Shepherd the job because of Meredith Grey!!! Oh yeah, THAT’S good for the relationship. All day long, Shepherd (who is one of the nicest surgeons we have here) has been moody and just a little short with people. I heard that there is a little distance between the happy couple as well. MY GOODNESS, what IF Dr. Shepherd is forced to choose between CHIEFDOM and RELATIONSHIPDOM.
Note to self: Must get new hair cut, a manicure and those cute maroon scrubs with the little strategically placed penguins along the neckline. If Dr. Shepherd needs a woman who has no chance of jeopardizing his career well, HELLO MCDREAMY!!! Must stay tuned…
Oh! Just got an email from Joe. Apparently, the Chief ‘s at the bar “cutting a rug” on the dance floor. The Emerald City Bar has a dance floor??? Okay, I must grab my camera and run!
