The Big Day

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY FOR CRISTINA YANG!!!!  The day!  The big day.   What does she do on her big day???? She comes to work.  I mean she must have some serious issues this girl because if I were getting married to the illustrious Dr. Burke, Seattle Grace is THE last place I would want to be.  But OH NO, Ms. Yang, soon to be well, Ms. Yang because you know women today REFUSE to change their last name.  Oh, she doesn’t know how lucky she is.

Nurse Tyler was in the OR during Dr. Burke’s operation and he said his vows out loud!!!  For the ladies. Dr. Burke, in an instant managed to have every single woman in the hospital in love with him. After Nurse Tyler repeated Dr. Burke’s vows to me, we both proceeded to stare into space for about a half hour followed by gorging ourselves on Twinkies and chocolate milk.

But getting back to Cristina showing up to work WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO HER EYEBROWS???? If you want to try something new, then do it at LEAST a month BEFORE the big day right?  Her face had no hair.  Not a one.  I kept thinking of a hairless chicken right after birth or a hairless baby or just you know, a person without hair on his or her face…well you get the point.

But all she kept talking about is cutting someone open and needing validation.  Validation???  How about the R-I-N-G?????  Some women just don’t know what they have until it’s gone…

Speaking of GONE?  Okay, maybe he was just cleaning out his locker because it’s the end of the year.  You know, a little spring-cleaning never hurt anyone.  But Lewy told me that George O’Malley cleaned out his locker and left!!!

Okay, I heard from our hospital chef: Chef Lemonier (oooo la la he makes the BEST deviled eggs!), that George failed his test.  How Chef Lemonier heard that OR how he manages to get the perfect amount of “devil” in those eggs I’ll never know.   But the point IS George O’Malley DID NOT pass and that means he either has to repeat his intern year or move on.

It’s so sad really.  He actually has talent and he started off so timid but in a year he seems to have grown so much.  I hate to see him go folks.  I mean, he was one of the few that I could deal with.  One of the few who said “please” and “thank you.”

But he must have not been too down in the dumps.  Because Lewy saw him and the Mrs. getting it on in the on-call room (this man sees more action than, I don’t know…ME!).  You heard me.  Getting it on.   I don’t know, sex in the on-call room is so blasé’ now a days.  I mean EVERYONE does it in there.  Snore.  I mean, if some hottie pulled me in there right now, I would refuse.  I would.  Too boring.  Been there. Done that…

Oh PLEASE LET SOME YOUNG HOTTIE PULL ME IN THERE!!!!  JUST GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY NOOOOO!!!!  Okay, I’m done.  Let’s get back to it all shall we?

Okay, I never thought it would happen.  Ever.  BUT….Jane Doe/Ava/Rebecca has been claimed.  Finally!  Her husband came today.  He SEEMED nice.  He also seems like the type who puts one shoe on at a time.  Who chews his food thoroughly?  But this entire situation has me thinking…it was weird with the husband.

I went to Rebecca’s room to say good-bye and check in one last time but she seemed…I don’t know, distant.  She smiled and thanked me but her thoughts were somewhere else.  I wonder if that could have anything to do with Dr. Karev?

I mean, how can you spend so much time with one person.  She almost died right?  He saved her.  Many times.  Ladies, how can you not fall for that?  And the fact that he looks damn good in those scrubs!!!  I wonder if this is it for them…I mean, is she just going to leave?  Disappear?  Go back to her life and forget all about Alex?  I wonder…

Lots of “newness” here at good ole’ Seattle Grace.  Not fun newness.  The kind of newness that gets on your nerves.  Like a new crop of interns.  They’re all giggly and anxious.  Speaking of a new crop, I was checking the list today and Lexie Grey was on it.  Interesting.  Sisters working together.  Wonder how that relationship will be?  Lot’s of baggage with this family.  I can’t wait to see how things pan out…

AND speaking of Grey.  Nurse Olivia informed me that Meredith and Derek got into a heated discussion today on the floor.  I told her what Joe told me which is Derek was flirting with some cutie in the bar the other night!!! I was so glad that she said something because I didn’t think I could keep it in for that much longer!  Anyhoo, they make a great couple yes and YES I’m sure they do love each other BUT this is my two cents and take it for what it’s worth:  Meredith has a good thing going and she either doesn’t know it or doesn’t care.  Either way, she had better be careful because there are a few of us in line to take her place…

Okay I’ve gotta run!  I scored a “ticket” to the wedding.  We had a raffle and the grand prize was an invite to the wedding of the year!  I have no interest in seeing the newlyweds suck face at the altar but I AM interested in all of the gorgeous specimen who will be in attendance.  I got the hottest dress!  Hey, who said that only the bride should wear white????

AND ACTION!!!

I want a leave of absence…Addison is back from hers (and none too soon – Sloan’s been a NUT case without her).   She is back and there are whispers that she’s entertaining the idea of leaving Seattle Grace. For good.  For real.  For fun in the sun!  I hear “the fun in the sun” comes in the form of a hot tamale “alternative medicine doctor” that she smooched in a stairwell (Please – can someone say quack? Sounds like a duck to me!).  Apparently, in Los Angeles, the S-E-X happens in stairwells. Hell of a lot less claustrophobic than an elevator right? Hmmm…maybe I should consider a change in location…

Something that may really push her to move (besides the ex-husband thing and the ex-adulterous boyfriend thing) is the fact that she can’t have children.  Nurse Tyler caught the tail end of a conversation that Addison had with Callie and it looks like Addison went to Los Angeles to get pregnant, but found out she can’t.  Couple THAT with the fact that it is unlikely she’ll get the job as Chief.  I mean, realistically, Dr. Burke and Shepherd are the obvious front-runners and unless they both do something COMPLETELY against hospital policy, I don’t see Addison getting it.  But, stranger things have happened so we’ll just have to stay tuned!

Action, action, action on the floor today!!!  So much so that instead of the interns taking advantage of the “free” day to study, they are constantly in the way.  I mean, isn’t it enough that we have to cover for them??? I wish they’d go hide in a dark studious feeling room somewhere instead of standing around watching us do their work for them on the mountain climbers who were just rushed in.  Those poor mountain climbers…  I don’t know what happened on that mountain but MAN. I’m dying to find out!!!

Poor Meredith Grey. What happened to her today made ME almost break down.  As she was ready to leave to attend her surrogate Mom’s funeral (I hear that this woman in a very short time, showed Meredith more care than Grey’s Mom ever did) Thatcher showed up here at the hospital! He was stumbling and reeked of alcohol.  He told Meredith she wasn’t welcome at the funeral.   He blamed her for Susan’s death!  It was horrifying.  I wasn’t there the night he slapped her but Nurse Olivia told me that it was the worst thing she’s ever seen.  To me, what happened today was way worse than the slap.  The look on Meredith’s face…this is one person who has suffered a lot, but today, it’s like she just gave up.

Did I mention today is test day?

Lewy was sweeping up outside the hall and peeked into the classroom where the intern test was taking place (he’s now in the habit of peeking in windows since he saw Dr. Crawford getting it on with Nurse Carrie) and he said that Meredith was just sitting there.  Everyone was frantically taking the test (by the way, if you’re ever in doubt, choose “B” that’s usually the answer), but she was just sitting there in a daze.  It’s really sad because Grey (as annoying as she can be) has a gift and I hate to think she could fail out of the program.

Speaking of failure, what is WRONG with George O’Malley????  I hear he got accepted at Mercy West, (which is like leaving George Clooney for Alex Trebeck).  Well, everyone kind of heard: Bailey put a hurting on him on the floor in front of everyone.  She is completely insulted that he would leave the most competitive program in the country for a second rate one.  I don’t blame her.  If I were his resident, I would be insulted too…And Callie seems so excited about George heading to Mercy West – you don’t think, he could be leaving because of Izzie Stevens???? I must do a little digging and find out what’s really going on.

Well, it’s time to sign off.  I hear that Dr. Burke is having a bachelor party at Joe’s and there’s nothing funnier than a bunch of drunk doctors. Plus maybe the groom will try to sow his wild oats with a certain nurse who is very sexy once she starts playing darts.  Darts can be a very sexy game!

Ok.  My shift is almost done – I do not have the patience to deal with some crazy yelling patient right now, seriously - who is yelling down there?  Wait. It sounds like the Chief…what is going on???  OH MY GOD-
