Nurse Debbie on "All By Myself"...
Oh for joy. It’s time to award the first solo surgery. How I love this time; the sucking up, the competitiveness magnified one hundred times over… I’ll say this: At least the mistakes are few. Everyone wants to do a good job, which makes my life easier. Wasn’t surprised either that Yang would have been everyone’s pick.
I think the Chief is probably overacting. Winning the first solo surgery is like winning a gold medal in the Olympics. Afterwards, you get your face on a box of Wheaties, and you get your own shoe….I mean, the solo surgery is the first step in a career full of successes. AND TO HAVE YANG PICK THE WINNER??? Torture. The Chief is not playing around anymore. You screw up, and you pay. Yang is paying.
But, at least she has the gorgeous Dr. Hunt to soften this hard time for her. You heard me. Yes, Dr. Hunt. The man I was to marry. The man I got my hair high lighted for. Yep. THAT Dr. Hunt. I heard Hunt introduced Yang to the vent. I knew that’s where he went to clear his head. It’s so romantic isn’t it? Anyway, he introduced Yang to his special place and I’ll say the rest from here is history. I know he has his issues – I mean, the things he experienced, how can he not? But, he seems like a good man. I hope Yang can appreciate that and that she is prepared for the amount of work he will take.
Back to the solo surgery….the winner is KAREV!!! I’m so happy for him. He’s such an underdog and what with crazy Jane Doe/Rebecca girl disaster and what with his new girlfriend losing her mind, he deserves this. Karev is the underdog and yes, he can be an ass but I like him. He’s a good kid. He’s got a lot of stuff to deal with – sometimes, I can feel his pain but he’s good.
Going back to Izzie Stevens. Yes, she still seems to be holding full on conversations with herself but now it’s severely affecting her work. The clinic, supposedly the love of her life is suffering. The patient care is lacking because she’s never there. Not only that, but while I thought she was sleeping in the on call room, well apparently, some other things are going on in there. I mean, I fully support pleasuring yourself but there’s a time and a place for everything is all I’m saying. What is going ON with her? It’s only a matter of time before this all hits the fan. And I don’t want to be there when it does.
Why isn’t Karev seeing this weirdness with Izzie? Is he in denial or so in love with her that he’s blind? Whatever it is, it’s major. And I feel for both Izzie and Karev…
What is Sloan’s deal lately? He’s treating Lexie like she has the plague. Now, I admit the interns were wrong in mutilating themselves but they’ve been punished enough. I’m surprised at Sloan. Usually, Sloan would take this opportunity to make “friends” with the Grey outcast but surprisingly, no. Hmmm…maybe he’s FINALLY growing up. Maybe he’s starting to make decisions with his brain rather the other body part. We’ll see…
Well, since the distinguished Dr. Hunt is now off the market, I must use my new fancy highlights on someone else. The men at Joes’s bar better watch out tonight!
I completely agree with what you said about Alex. I hate what's happening with Izzie.

Well, thanks to TIVO, I have just watched this episode, and I cannot freaking believe this. First of all, I am so glad that Christina has found herself a new man. Dr Hunt is just the kind of guy that she needs -- like Burke, but different. I thought it was unfair about what happened with the whole intern thing, but if you ask me, all the residents were to blame, not just Christina, so I think she was being unfairly singled out. And I also though Christina was surprised to have a (sort of) ally in Dr. Dixon. And Karev was being really sweet, telling Izzie he was falling in love, and then "freaking out" right before his surgery. That guy is full of surprises. And speaking of Izzie ... someone needs to slap that girl upside the head a few times, do something to get her head back where it needs to be. Before there's an unexpected opening in the residency program at Seattle Grace. Oh, and one more thing .... The thought of Sadie and Callie together is hot. The thought of Lexie being with Sloan is .... EWWWW. Anybody with me here?

Jeez Debbie I'm disappointed in you. A whole entry without mentioning McDreamy and Meredith. They made your blog popular in the first place, we're only interested in them. So next time talk about the MerDer of it all kej?

I love Alex and Izzie. Hope they work out. Otherwise, I will be depressed.

love the blog! thanks for the insight into what happens behind the scenes. Something is wrong with Izzie and I think it is a brain tumor, Derrick will have to operate and try to save her but does not happen(season finally, she wants off the show) What do you think?

Can someone please tell the writers to either write something better for Izzie or write her off the show. That Denny stuff is so ridiculous. I don't have TiVo but anytime she comes on I change the channel. She finally is with Alex and he's finally into someone and this is what happens. Come on. They write off lesbian characters but leave in this stupidity? Really.

Wow, Deb. I didn't know it was you and Hunt (highlights, too!) I've no idea what he sees in Christina; believe me, you'd make a far better lady for him. I know Karev is "reborn" now, but he's still so angry. And Derek and Mer seem...just sort of there. Keep us posted...I'll looking forward to the 8th!

I don’t really agree with the whole Izzy and Alex thing... idk... there is just something about Denny that drives me crazy... I think she just needs this time with him (that she didn’t have before) to grieve... It may pass over time... even though I don’t want it to, it is kinka creepy knowing that Denny is dead and izzy is probably talking to herself… but I am enjoying my time watching Denny Duquette on my television screen again.. He is so charming.... I just hope that the writers figure out a way to keep Denny on the show for good... he is one of the main reasons I watch the show...
